English poem
از خدا خواستم عادتهاي زشت را تركم بدهد.خدا فرمود:خودت بايد آنها را رها كني. I asked god to make my spirit grow از خدا خواستم كمكم كند همانقدر كه او مرا دوست دارد، من هم ديگران را دوست بدارم.خدا فرمود: آها، بالاخره اصل مطلب دستگيرت شد. I asked god to help me love others, as much as He loves me Words were so far away from spoken
I asked god to take away my habit
God said, no It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up
از او درخواست كردم فرزند معلولم را شفا دهد.فرمود: لازم نيست، روحش سالم است؛ جسم هم كه موقت است.
I asked god to make my handicapped child whole
God said, no body is only temporary
از او خواستم لااقل به من صبر عطا كند.فرمود: صبر، حاصل سختي و رنج است. عطاكردني نيست، آموختني است.
I asked god to grant me patience
God said, no Patience is a byproduct of tribulation
It isn't granted, it is learned
گفتم: مرا خوشبخت كن.فرمود: نعمت از من خوشبخت شدن از تو.
I asked god to give me happiness
God said, no I give you blessings happiness is up to you
از او خواستم مرا گرفتار درد و عذاب نكند.فرمود: رنج از دلبستگيهاي دنيايي جدا و به من نزديكترت ميكند.
I asked god to spare me pain
God said, no
Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me
از او خواستم روحم را رشد دهد.فرمود: نه تو خودت بايد رشد كني. من فقط شاخ و برگ اضافيات را هرس ميكنم تا بارور شوي.
God said, no You must grow on your own
But I will prune you to make you fruitful
از خدا خواستم كاري كند كه از زندگي لذت كامل ببرم.فرمود: براي اين كار من به تو زندگي دادهام.
I asked god for all things that I might enjoy life
God said, no I will give you life, so that you may enjoy all things
God said: Ahah, finally you have the idea
The night was so quiet and warm
The moon and stars arrived unbroken
with stories and pictures of vast and fervent perfection
Our hands touched so softly they tickled
Such joy was felt above their laugh
The wings of night became unwrinkled
to release its message of 'yes' from a streaking meteor
With our arms we contained each other
with our lips we needed much more
by our heart we shattered the cover
of silence and distance that had kept us waiting patiently
Fire flies winked in sprinkles of knowing
An owl seemed to forget its call
Time placed in slow motion his sowing
of currents and waters of new, with utmost approval
Our kiss’s pure lightning wrenched from night
of its deep and secret desires
and grasped in our passion, of its might,
on bridges of pleasure, to breach its hallowed foundation
Words need not be spoken that we hear
on nights so quiet and warm
when moon and stars landscape the veneer
to create their potions of love in fervent perfection
love came shining through.
It brought with it a giant hug
and held me oh so tight
like an angel in the night.
It wrapped it's loving arms around me
and held me ever so tenderly
extending kisses, blossoming so heavenly.
Love brought to me a smiling face
that no other could ever replace
and really put me in my place.
Love picked me up and swirled me around
as it tore away the sad old frown
that had so been keeping me down.
I'd forgotten just what it was like
to live ever so happily
but you my dear have surely shown me.
Love truly came shining through
just when I needed it most
and I never dreamed it would be you.
You were my knight in shining armor
as you whisked me off my feet
and rode off with me so gallantly.
You put the love back in my heart
that had before been torn apart
and restored my spirit once again.
Just when I thought that love was at the end
you really came shining through
and brought me a whole new beginning.
